Frequently Asked Questions

No, we have a pay-for-play model and do not require players to purchase a membership.

We recommend all new players take a one-hour Introduction to Pickleball clinic. This clinic will introduce you to the fundamentals of the game including: rules, positioning and scoring. We provide a paddle if you don’t own one yet. Most players will continue with a session of clinics (8-12 classes) to work on basics and learn strategy before being ready to participate in open play or leagues.

Clinics are a 4:1 player to instructor ratio. Clinics focus on improving skills using drills which emphasize repetition and building muscle memory. Clinics are typically 2/3 drills followed by 1/3 pro-guided play with the goal of implementing learnings from the drill portion into game play.

Play with Pro (PWP) consists of 3 players with a pro playing in as the fourth. PWP is all game-play and the pro partners with each player on the court. Instruction is given throughout the session with a focus on shot selection, positioning and strategy.

Private lessons are 1:1 with a pro and are the right choice for players who want personalized attention with a focus on skills of their choosing.

Pro-guided open play is an organized round robin, run by a pro. Each person gets equitable playing time and a variety of matches. The pro also observes games and provides tips and instruction during and between rounds.

We group people into broad skill levels, such as Beginner (2.0-2.5), Advanced Beginner (2.5-3.0), Low Intermediate (3.0-3.25), Intermediate (3.25-3.5), High Intermediate (3.5-3.75) and Advanced (3.75+). Skill levels are not synonymous with experience. We have many new players who learn the rules and can immediately play at the Intermediate level. We also have many experienced players who have been playing for years at the Advanced Beginner level. We use ratings to group players for instructional programs and leagues because we have found that players thrive most when they are grouped with people at a similar level.
Typically self-ratings are provisional so players who are new to us can register for drop-in programs. After a qualified pro is able to observe players in action, that pro may make changes to their ratings. Upon request we will do a short assessment to assign a Pickleball Palace rating (not a professional rating) for a fee of $25. A player will be credited the assessment fee when he/she registers for his/her first program. If a player feels the assigned rating is incorrect, or dated, we encourage that player to reach out to us and we will work together to make adjustments when appropriate.
Leagues are more competitive and scores are input into stats that get distributed weekly. Round Robins are less competitive and scores are not recorded.

FOR COURT RENTALS, PRIVATE LESSONS, & DROP-IN PROGRAMS
There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. For cancellations prior to the 48 hour mark, a refund will be issued to your Court Reserve balance.

In the event that Pickleball Palace cancels due to weather or low registration, a refund will be issued to your Court Reserve balance. Be sure to opt into Court Reserve notifications (email and/or text) to be alerted of a cancellation.

FOR SESSIONS
Instruction and leagues that are part of a “session” have specific absence and make-up policies and procedures.

Many players register for an instructional program and/or league that runs for an 8-12 week session (differs based on season). These players play at the same day/time each week with the same leveled group of players. Drop-in programs are pay-as-you-play, and players can register directly on Court Reserve for open spots on the schedule. Sessions and drop-ins have slightly different costs and different absence/cancellation policies.
We maintain a Last Minute Special email distribution list for players who want to opt-in (via Court Reserve or email). Last minute specials are typically emailed the evening prior and offer discounts for openings the next day. If you request an LMS and are offered the spot, no cancellations or refunds are permitted.
Payment is due in advance of the program. Any payment not made in advance will be automatically charged to the credit card on your payment profile.
Yes! We host corporate events, fundraisers and birthday parties (ages 8-100!). The entire facility can be rented for larger events or we have a designated party space for smaller groups. Contact us for availability and pricing.
